Make a Plan

Do you ever have those days when you are supposed to make dinner and you don’t know what to make?

If you thought “no,” then you are a liar!

Or you’re not a responsible adult.

Usually on those days, I spend my “pre” dinner hours deliberately wasting time online.  I watch video clips and peruse Facebook all the while hoping that my nagging thoughts will go away, and that dinner will magically fix itself.

It never does! (Surprise)

My wife and I have split the week so that she cooks on the weekdays, and I take care of dinner on the weekends (including Friday).  I initially volunteered Friday because I knew that I would be doing date night, so it just made sense.

What does this have to do with dating?

Well, she’s got this great system down where she plans her meals out the week before! (She’s so smart!)  So when it comes time to make dinner, guess what she doesn't have to do?

She doesn't have to figure out WHAT to make!

She just makes a schedule for what she is going to make and on what days.

Now for those of you who already do this, yes, I know, it is obvious!  You may be wondering how I could be so dense as to miss such a thing.  Just don’t forget that we all learn at some point.  And the point to learn here is that the same thing goes for date night!

If you want to be successful with dating, then you have to have a plan!

Otherwise, date night comes along and you start thinking,

“What should we do for date night?”

By time you figure something out, you’re tired, and bored, and not really as interested as you were at the start of the night.  So you end up just ordering take out and renting a movie...lame!

So when it comes to date night, make a plan!  And remember, it doesn't have to be elaborate, it just has to be planned.  Then all your date night jitters and stress will fade away!
